I originally started this as a Blogger blog, but I’m working on moving more stuff over to my main site, and since this was the blog with the fewest posts, I figured it would be the easiest one to import.
Anyhow, the main reason I have this blog is so that I can work on polishing my various fiction and semi-fiction. There are a lot of stories I want to be able to tell, and I figure that sharing them with others as I write them is a good idea.
The blog I originally started was called “Shadow Monsters and Fairy Gifts.” That’s because, at least right now in their beyond-rough draft stage, I’m loosely dividing the writing here into short stories and poems, and a novel that I really would like to get written.
Why not just write it on my own computer, and not share with anyone? Well, I think one major reason is that somehow, I’ve found it’s easier to get through my phobias about writing honestly if I’m doing it online. Because of the way that I had to write rather opaquely in order to be (or at least, to feel) safe while I was growing up, I learned how to write in a way that obscured what was really going on for me.
I don’t know why it is easier for me to write online. Perhaps because I can always deny that the writing is my own. I can pretend I have nothing to do with it. And there is immense freedom in that.
Feel free to read, and to comment. I will be very upset if someone decides they’re going to steal my writing for their own use, though. If you like a story, and are inspired to be a writer yourself, then please have the courtesy to write your own stories. Thank you.
