Personal Blogs About DID/MPD and Other Dissociative Disorders

This page is no longer being updated. For an updated list of links, please go here. Thanks!

Sometimes, it can feel really lonely and overwhelming to live with DID/MPD or another dissociative disorder. The people I know who deal with these issues don't tend to go around to everyone they know in "real life" talking about what's going on. Dissociative disorders work, in part, because of how they enable people to appear normal to the outside world. This is good as a survival technique, but not so good when you want to know you are not alone.

One thing that can help is to read people's blogs. People who may not choose to share the details of their lives in person are often willing to share a great deal about themselves online. The anonymity of the internet can make it feel safer to write about some of those otherwise hidden experiences.

Below is a list of blogs I have found. The people who write them deal with DID/MPD or some other dissociative disorder. You may not find all of them useful and you may not choose to read any of them at all. But perhaps you will find that you are not alone in what you are experiencing. Please do be careful as you browse, since many times the people blogging will be writing about things that survivors may find triggering.
